About Kariel Thompson
With an extensive background in communication disorders, Southern California professional Kariel Thompson employs an early interventional approach in working with children with developmental disabilities. Kariel Thompson’s individualized, family-centered approach encompasses autism research and an extensive knowledge of cognitive disorders and delays, as well as traumatic brain injuries.
Ms. Thompson also has a background in audiology and newborn hearing, and served as clinical director with Julia Hobbs Speech Pathology for six years. Communicating closely with parents, she supervised therapists and worked with service providers in assuring accurate diagnosis and impactful treatment of patients.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of California, Irvine, and gained experience as a research assistant with the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab. She subsequently completed an MA in communication disorders at California State University, Los Angeles.
Among Kariel Thompson’s areas of personal interest are Alzheimer's and breast cancer research. She enjoys outdoor activities such as archery and skiing in her free time.
